Documentation guide

Documents you need for Gulf healthcare jobs

A clear, country-wise guide for doctors, nurses and paramedical professionals: what to collect, how attestation works and what each Gulf authority expects.

Your documentation journey in 4 stages

Work through these in order and you avoid most rejections and delays.

  1. Passport and ID

Valid passport, photographs and a government ID. Check that your name is spelled the same everywhere.

  2. Qualification

Degree, mark sheets, council registration and experience letters, collected as clear originals.

  3. Verification and attestation

Credential verification such as DataFlow where required, and attestation of your certificates.

  4. Licence and recruitment

Licensing exam and authority registration, then employer matching and visa documents.

Document checklist by profession

Choose your profession. Every list has the common documents and the ones specific to you.

Common for everyone

  • Passport with enough validity (front and back pages)
  • Recent passport-size photographs on a plain background
  • Government photo ID
  • Updated CV with dates that match your certificates
  • Previous employer contact details

For doctors

  • MBBS or BDS degree, mark sheets and internship certificate
  • Postgraduate degree and specialty certificates, if any
  • Medical council registration certificate (NMC or state council)
  • Experience letters on hospital letterhead with dates and designation
  • Certificate of good standing, when the authority asks for it

The exact list depends on your profession, country and licensing authority. We confirm the current list for your case before you collect anything.

How attestation usually works

The order can change by document and country, so confirm it before you start.

  1. Verification at source

University, board or council confirms the certificate, where needed.

  2. Notary or state level

Notary, state HRD or home department attests the document.

  3. MEA attestation

Ministry of External Affairs attests the document in India.

  4. Embassy attestation

The embassy of your destination country in India attests it.

  5. Final steps

Some countries add a last step in the destination country.

Country-wise guide

Each Gulf country has its own licensing authority and process. Pick the country you are aiming for.

Licensing authorities

DHA, DOH and MOHAP

Dubai is regulated by DHA, Abu Dhabi by DOH, and the other emirates by MOHAP.

Ask about the UAE

What to expect

  • Your authority depends on the emirate where your employer is based.
  • Credential verification and a licensing exam may be required, depending on your profession and authority.
  • Attested certificates are commonly needed for employment and visa processing.
  • Experience letters should clearly show your role, department and dates.

Authorities update their rules from time to time. We confirm the current requirements for your profession and country before you apply.

Mistakes that delay your file

Name mismatch

Different spellings of your name across passport, degree and registration can stop a file. Fix it before you apply.

Weak experience letters

Letters without dates, designation or department are often rejected. Ask your employer for a complete letter.

Wrong attestation order

Attesting in the wrong sequence means doing it again. Confirm the chain for your country first.

Low-quality scans

Blurred or cropped scans cause queries. Scan originals in colour with all four corners visible.

Expired documents

An expiring passport or lapsed council registration can block the process. Renew early.

Relying on old rules

Requirements change. Use current information and not what a friend did a few years ago.

Common questions

Do I need DataFlow verification?

Many Gulf licensing authorities use credential verification, and DataFlow is a common provider. Whether you need it depends on your country, profession and authority. We tell you before you pay.

Should I attest my documents before applying for a job?

Not always. Some steps are needed only after an offer. We advise you what to do now and what can wait, so you do not spend money too early.

I have worked in several hospitals. Do I need letters from all of them?

Authorities usually look at your recent and relevant experience. Share your full history with us and we will tell you which letters matter for your application.

Can you help if my documents have errors?

Yes. We check your file, point out problems such as name mismatches, and guide you on how to correct them before you submit.

Not sure what you need?

Send us your profession and target country. We will share a checklist made for your case.
